National Assembly Building of Cameroon, Yaoundé

Façade & Glazing Works: 14,000 m² | Construction Period: 2022–2024
Category: Government Landmark · Tropical Climate Engineering · Complex International Supply Chain

Between 2022 and 2024, our team undertook the full glazing and curtain-wall package for the National Assembly Building of Cameroon, located in Yaoundé. The project involved the supply and installation of 14,000 m² of high-performance aluminium windows, doors, and façade systems designed to support the architectural, functional, and symbolic significance of a national parliamentary building.

The scope included thermally broken aluminium framing, large-format curtain-wall assemblies, blast-resistant laminated glazing for designated security zones, high-clarity insulated double-glazed units, and operable façade systems tailored for tropical climate conditions. All glazing systems were engineered to improve indoor comfort, enhance natural daylighting, and provide long-term durability under Cameroon’s hot, humid and highly variable weather environment.

The project required precise engineering coordination with the main contractor, structural consultants and façade designers. Our team produced detailed fabrication drawings, verified all critical dimensions on site, and ensured the accurate installation of mullions, transoms, sealant joints and interface components. Particular emphasis was placed on watertightness during heavy seasonal rainfall, wind-load performance, and the seamless integration of glazing systems with the building’s concrete and steel structure.

Delivering materials to Central Africa also posed significant logistical challenges. Shipping routes through West African ports—including those in Cameroon—required careful planning to manage port congestion, customs fluctuations and broader geopolitical tensions affecting international supply chains. Long-distance inland transportation added further complexity, requiring robust packaging, sequencing and delivery management to ensure that all façade components arrived safely and on programme.

As part of an international aid-supported development project, on-site conditions demanded resilience and disciplined organisation from our teams. Extended periods of intense heat, unpredictable weather patterns, and increased risks of tropical illnesses required enhanced health and safety protocols. Despite these challenges, our team successfully navigated each obstacle through strong local coordination, clear communication with project stakeholders, and consistent supervision—ensuring that installation quality, worker safety and project continuity were maintained throughout all phases of construction.

The completed glazing works give the National Assembly Building a modern, dignified, and visually transparent architectural identity, while improving performance, comfort and long-term durability. This project demonstrates our capability to deliver large-scale, complex international façade and glazing works in demanding environments, meeting both functional requirements and the national significance of the building.
